there has been talk...









Over the past few weeks there has been talk of one of my favorite places in the world..  there has been talk of France and Paris around here.  We have been talking about taking sometime and visiting and shopping to bring things back from this place that I love.  My heart beats a little faster each time it comes up.  Yes there are projects here and there are many many things going on but when talk like this starts a girl cannot help but to get excited and her brain starts to really turn and see what can be done.  It is a little dream of mine and I am going to make it work.... soon.

These are some images of my last trip to Paris (I have many so I hope I have not shared any of these before) and they bring back memories.  Wishing you a wonderful day filled with talk of the future!

Rose Bowl Flea Market...



We took a quick morning trip to the flea market on Sunday.  Always a good time!  I was excited to see some new faces and of course some good friends.  I fell in love with these vintage postal bags- so amazing!  He had a few left you can catch him here if you are interested...   I love love these bags too with the linen outfit- yes please!  Brothers of Industry always a favorite!







Always a favorite- the vintage lines.. I resisted this time but only because I have so many that we are making up into pillows for everyone.

The Rusty Bucket was a new find for me- their display was really amazing and I picked up some great vintage frames for a little personal project  that I am working on.  I believe that their shop is located in Camarillo, Ca. 




 

I stopped by A Life of Vintage's booth early in the morning.. She had some really great pieces, love the dress forms and she had this huge antler that I loved.  It was nice to chat with her too as I found out that she reads the blog. (Fun!)  You can fine Sandee at Heather Fields Home and Garden in Westlake Village, Ca.  
 





 

There were 3 of these beauties... I waited to see the vendor but she was out so I had to move on- aren't they so lovely!

Contemporary Office Furniture Trends to Watch

In 2012 Home Zone Design Guidelines ">contemporary furniture seems to be the most popular solution to office furniture needs. This year we have seen a huge rise in modern and contemporary furniture lines. Manufacturers like OFM, Inc., Global Total Office, and Mayline Furniture continue to make huge contributions to the world of modern office furniture with incredibly cool collections that won't break your budget.

For a long time it was thought that modern meant expensive! This is no longer the case. Several of the hottest lines on the market in terms of modern office furniture are actually quite affordable. In years past, wood veneer was by far the most sought out style of office furnishing. Today laminate casegoods have really taken over. The level of quality has risen significantly. Most associated laminate furniture with being cheap and often unprofessional. Now, In most cases, laminate executive furniture is more durable and much more easily maintained. The selection of finishes is much better as well, allowing consumers to truly customize their space.

Another hot trend to keep an eye on is the use of metal and glass in the workplace. Especially when it comes to conference furniture, metal and glass are really taking over. Lightweight metals and tempered glass offer a really modern style that is sweeping boardrooms across the nation. Look for lines like Transaction and OFM conference tables to be popping up all over! Modular furniture is an industry buzz word that has been around forever. Consumers are really just starting to pick up on the benefits of investing in modular products for their business. Using modular workstations will allow you to reconfigure your space to meet your needs. This is especially beneficial as it allows you to add-on or enhance a workspace if you move or change offices. Nothing is worse than spending tons of money on gorgeous executive furniture and moving to a new office that it just won't fit properly in. Modular is modern, and the ability to customize and configure is just practical!

Vintatge Finds and instagram...


So I have a question... do you instagram?  I do and I love love it!  I love the idea of being able to have a camera with me at all times and having the editing tools there too.  It is super fun and I am sure I post too many of the same pictures just from different angles.. this is how I use my regular camera too.  I take a lot of pictures and then I look for just the right one (usually they are really the same but I like to abuse my use of the camera memory).   I would love to know if you are on instagram and if you would like to have some new followers please let us all know your user name in the comments section...

I get a lot of emails and comments asking me to show some of my purchases from the flea markets.. I did take a couple of pics with my phone of some of my goodies!   (The first picture is of the gorgeous peonies that I picked up before dinner today- not from the flea market but had to share).  I found these beautiful pale green glass beads to mix in with my bone beads- love them... I also bought this great Union Jack - it is a little oversized and very thin.  Perfect for a window or to just drape around.



This is one of my favorite things!!!!  I am taking this in this morning to have it made into a pillow... so so loving this one.  Just underneath it is a beautiful English wedding document that will be getting framed and off to the side is a great croc bag (it is the real thing) that I picked up for a steal about a month ago.

Santa Monica flea market


We spent the better part of the morning at the flea market on Sunday.  This was my first time to Santa Monica flea market and it was pretty successful as far as shopping.  It was a small group of vendors but there was a pretty good selection.  I found a lot of textiles and pillows which is always fine by me as those are a few of my favorite things!  We even had a few celebrity sitings which made for a fun morning.


This booth was from elements- he had some really great pieces and I had a chance to talk with him which was nice once we had circled the market twice.  I am looking forward to seeing him at Long Beach as he is expecting some pieces to come in from France in a week or so!



I was so close to buying this set of Lucite tables..  so fun!



I picked up a pillow with the embroidered dragons on it- love it!

I totally love this mix.  So fun for a girls room or beach house!

We also discovered another small but really great flea market in Anaheim off of Lincoln and Lemon.  Some of the best finds of the day are from there!  Once I get a chance to go through all of my stuff I will have to share some things with you.
